It has been another busy week here at the Williams household. I've had little time to do much of any work as of late because of that.
Tuesday was another Doctor's appointment and it appears I need X-rays done on my back now. For once they are actually looking closer for a cause of these back problems of mine. I think they are related to the broken ribs that healed funny, but who knows, at least I'm not getting the usual, "Get better shoes." or "Stop carrying a that shoulder bag." which I don't actually carry that much. I hope to have more news later, after the x-rays that is.
Wednesday was the long day. Kim was online looking at animals again, furry critters at the Humane Society. After playing MG4 she really wanted a guinea pig so we went out in search of a pair, we like to have pairs of pets to keep them company. Well the shelter only had a couple of guinea pigs, nothing that Kim wanted, but she really wanted the Chinchillas that were there. The Chinchillas were not available at the moment due to injuries and we don't have a big enough cage as of yet so we decided to forgot them for now. We kept trying to leave, but kept turning around to look at the other critters. God, there were a hell of a lot of bunnies there. I mean they were all over the place, it was insane. If you are in Toronto and interested in a bunny please go down to the
Shelter and get one, they are so cute.
Anyways, after a while we finally decided on a pair of Gerbils instead of Dwarf Hamsters, which we planed on getting later. Kim still wanted Guinea pigs so after rushing the Gerbils home, finding the cages and assembling one of them, we ran back out to the PJ's pets at Yorkdale Mall. We needed some new bedding for the gerbils and a new water bottle so it was a trip we would have to make no matter what. Kim was worried we would not get there on time because the Humane society took so bloody long, just for two tiny animals. We got there at 8pm and only had an hour before closing, but we found what we were looking for, lots of cute Guinea pigs. They all looked very tiny and after seeing them at the shelter we realized they were very young, turned out they were only 7 weeks old. Now Kim originally wanted an
American breed because of their short hair, but they only had a couple males of that breed and we wanted females, because they are less aggressive. In the end we got two
Abyssinian Guinea Pigs that were very cute. We don't have photos of them as of yet because they are kind of shy right now and are hiding. We want them to get used to their cage before handling them so will have photos of the gerbils and Guinea pigs, along with the snails as well, in the near future.
So we have a pretty full house here. 8 animals in all. The funny thing was some kid at the pet store was amazed to hear we were getting 2 guinea pigs and when I told him just how many animals we had he was shocked and said:
"How can you have so many? My Mom won't let me have any at all."
I stared at the kid and then smiled and told him that I'm actually 33 and live with my wife and that is why we can do this, we make our own rules. He seemed slightly shocked by this and it really makes me wonder just how old I look. I know I look young, but I don't feel it at all. *shrugs*
Well today was a day of setting up cages, cleaning things up and making sure the pets were all comfortable. It took until 1am last night just to make sure all their cages were set up and today was no different. I finally got online a little while ago and still have lots to do. I hope to have time tomorrow to work because so far I've got noting finished. *sighs*
So that is my week. Well jaa ne

I'll stick with my parrot.
The animal shelter we have over here is pretty crumb. It's pretty depressing to walk through, all grey and sombre. Maybe they're trying to make the animals stand out against the background?
I found lots of snails in the garden today. I was going to pick one to keep, but I didn't want to pick it up. Maybe I'm too prissy for snails.

Yeah, it was horrible there, makes me want to take them all home with us.
Snails are fine if you pick them up by the shells. They are also easy to take care of. They eat mostly vegetation and the like so if you ever consider actually keeping one then just check the list of what they eat online. It is shocking just how much our Giant Snails eat. *shakes her head in amazement.*
