I'm sorry that is an invalid response.

The Worlds of Kathryn K Williams

I'm sorry that is an invalid response.

I was just sitting here surfing for a moment before heading out the door when the phone rang. I got up and grumbled, because we have been getting a lot of strange calls from telemarketers.

"Hello?" I asked as I picked up the phone.
"I'm sorry that is an invalid response." The phone replied back to me and I blinked in surprise, "Please dail '1' to get an operator."
I just stared at the phone and shook my head as I put the phone down. I walked into the study to tell Kim what happened and she gave me an unusual look. I think that is the oddest answer I've ever got on the phone.

To this day I still loved when I answered the phone saying, "Hello, City Morgue, How may we help you?" The person who had called just laughed, it turned out to be our old roommates mother and they both got a good laugh out of that one.

As I've mentioned before we have been going to the library a lot as of recently, I mean almost every day that it is opened. Kim has taken out over 100 volumes of manga, I'm not kidding she had 40 volumes sitting on the table at one time. Everything from the Host Club to Peach girl and Hot Gimmick. The stupid thing is for some reason kids keep tearing out the pages and drawing on them. It is so childish and sad that I want to walk over to the nearest school and give the kids a lecture, even though some of these books come from different libraries around the city so I would never know who exactly is doing all of this. *sighs*

I happened to stumble across something from my childhood while looking through the manga. I used to read a lot of novels through the years and recently got back into reading again, as I've mentioned before. I came across some new R.L. Stine books. Now I was not a big fan of Goosebumps and the like, but as I looked at these books, called Fear Street, something about them seemed familiar. For the last while I've been searching for some old teen horror stories that I read when I was a kid, in the late 80s/early 90s, and it would seem I've found them. Not the exact books that I remembered, but as I searched online for more info about them I realized that this series was indeed the series that I used to read. Now I just need to hunt down the exact titles for I remember a few of them being rather creepy and really sparked my interest as a writer as well as a reader. The only problem is the Library is cataloging things strangely so I may never find the books I'm seeking. Still it is great finally finding the names of these books. I think I'll grab a few more from the library for the last one I got, which was "Switch", was very good and really gives me new ideas on how to go about writing.

Well I'm off. We are going to have KFC for dinner tonight and curl up to some movies. Originally we were going to a Library book sale, but Kim is not feeling to good, been sick all week long. I still need to drop by the library for the next After School Nightmare is there and I need to read more of that.

Well jaa ne and hope everyone has a good weekend.

Wow... that's interesting. ^^; I don't know what I'd do if my phone said, "I'm sorry that is an invalid response." after I said "Hello". :O It's freaky! lol

Being happy is better than being sad or angry, both are necessary; they show us just how nice happiness is.

~If you'd like something I've said to be clarified, just ask:)
What a very strange response  lol

I read alot of Christopher Pike books when i was younger haha. I always thought of him as a morbid R.L. Stine (specially his book Monster. Yum, eating people)

Haha that bit about the phonecall made me laugh. Maybe you didn't say the right greeting hahahahaha

OMG... that is a lot of mangas. Even I never checked out that many at once before my parents restricted my card.

Though that phone call was funny. May I just borrow that idea for a short-comic to my C'est la vie comic?

Hope Kim gets better soon so both of you could go to the Pride Events.

Life would be so much easier if we built a time machine...
(何か? Then history will repeat itself again silly. O.o )
Those telemarketers are taking over Australia too!

But they're all indian, and they get really annoyed when you respond to them with "Hello? You have reached dee Kwik-E Mart, plees hold dee line and sumwun will bee with you shortlee."

The phone is the best thing to mess with.

Goosebumps are hardcore. We all used to sit there in grade three and read them because we were hardcore third graders, and we'd pretend to read through the whole series, just so we were cooler than everyone else.

The phone can be fun, but most of the time I'm finding it to be annoying, mostly because the calls we are getting are just hang ups. *shrugs*

Geez, when I was in grade 3 it was the Bunnicula books that everyone was reading, which I now own almost all of due to my sweetie getting them for me for my birthday. I don't remember many hard core Goosebumps readers when I was young, then again they didn't start coming out until my late teens so I was busy reading Steven King by that time so probably didn't notice too much.
